Happy Thanksgiving and did I get a good laugh today

I am cooking and almost finished with dinner for myself and hubby and asked him if he wanted some green beans. "Sure", he said.  I proceeded to open a can of green beans and put a tablespoon of bacon grease in and reached for my onion container in the crisper.  I opened it up and started to laugh.  The onion had sprouted and had roots growing.  I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.  Now, I decided I would put it in some soil.  I have some rick-rack cactus growing and there was a center area and I plopped the onion down there.  I have not clue if it will continue to grow. Can only wait and see! I walked to the kitchen, still smiling and laughing.  Then it came to me, I really needed to document this.  I grabbed my phone and started doing the picture taking. First of the container, then I went in the back room and took the onion out of the soil.  I think you can still see the growth and the roots!  This was just too funny!

I'm Worn Out!

It’s Nice Outside By Mary J Williams © I thought about the birds Stepped outside the door The sun was shining brightly Which I just adore! I knew I had washing So went down the stairs Transferred wash to the dryer I know you don’t care! I looked at the floor I need to sweep just a bit Went to get the broom My brain did a flip Feed the birds first Seeing as they have none They need some food Get that chore done The can that holds All the sunflower seed The bungee cord is broken A squirrel probably did the deed The cord held the lid down This has happened before Racoons and squirrels chew it Not going to get the lid off no more I finally found one in the basement That would fit like the old one Now that the birds are fed I found another thing to get done Blew the leaves out of the garage Out from the corner of the door Blew them across the driveway Where I will let them store Pick them up in spring After the birds dig through them Finding all the bugs, worms, and insects Among the rottin

Winter-Yard Gardens Birds Critters and ME

Winter-the Yard, Birds and Critters and Me by Mary J Williams It's sort of winter but the weather is mild You can be outside Which makes me smile Weeds were pulled and I planted a seed one was a tree If it grows, it will surprise me I have had fun watching the birds an argument between bluebirds and the Robins I've heard Chickadees flying in and the Titmouse too I grab the camera Then off they flew I have a flowerbox sits on the rail It's on the two by six so falling will fail It also can sit on a two by four but mine just has the space The birds walk through the tunnel and disappear without a trace One time, while filling the feeders One of the tunnels had a bird A sparrow was in there  He ran so fast, he was blurred I love watching them  they think the tunnels fun Maybe they get cool If there's a lot of sun. I have to wash the deck  to try and keep it clean with bird seed and poop Dog pee I mean When it's cold outside Or very early morn The dogs do their business
