Watching the Travels of a Squirrel Running Away from Dog on the Ground!

 There was a squirrel on the deck and Lacy finally spotted it. The squirrel ran towards the roof, but I was standing there and let out a loud "ARRGH"! LOL! Needless to say, the squirrel made a U turn and ran for the banister of the steps. Lacy is fast but not that fast and the Squirrel made it to the back fence ran along it for a bit, got down on the ground, ran to the shed, up and over the top, to disappear in the trees behind! 

I kept telling Lacy there was a squirrel in the flat bird feeder, but she ignored me. She did, however walk down that way and the squirrel took off!  Watching him run across the top of the fence, jumping to the crabapple tree, moving from there to a good position. I am on the deck saying, "You can't jump from there, (just as the squirrel did just that), OH, I guess you can!"  Now squirrel is in the neighbor's young maple tree. Goes up, moves over a branch, goes up, comes back down then over and jumps to the large maple tree! I see a couple of branches moving but don't see anything more! I came in the house and got my camera and took pictures of the route and then marked it!

They sure are entertaining even if they do eat all my birdseed!

I'm Worn Out!

It’s Nice Outside By Mary J Williams © I thought about the birds Stepped outside the door The sun was shining brightly Which I just adore! I knew I had washing So went down the stairs Transferred wash to the dryer I know you don’t care! I looked at the floor I need to sweep just a bit Went to get the broom My brain did a flip Feed the birds first Seeing as they have none They need some food Get that chore done The can that holds All the sunflower seed The bungee cord is broken A squirrel probably did the deed The cord held the lid down This has happened before Racoons and squirrels chew it Not going to get the lid off no more I finally found one in the basement That would fit like the old one Now that the birds are fed I found another thing to get done Blew the leaves out of the garage Out from the corner of the door Blew them across the driveway Where I will let them store Pick them up in spring After the birds dig through them Finding all the bugs, worms, and insects Among the rottin

Winter-Yard Gardens Birds Critters and ME

Winter-the Yard, Birds and Critters and Me by Mary J Williams It's sort of winter but the weather is mild You can be outside Which makes me smile Weeds were pulled and I planted a seed one was a tree If it grows, it will surprise me I have had fun watching the birds an argument between bluebirds and the Robins I've heard Chickadees flying in and the Titmouse too I grab the camera Then off they flew I have a flowerbox sits on the rail It's on the two by six so falling will fail It also can sit on a two by four but mine just has the space The birds walk through the tunnel and disappear without a trace One time, while filling the feeders One of the tunnels had a bird A sparrow was in there  He ran so fast, he was blurred I love watching them  they think the tunnels fun Maybe they get cool If there's a lot of sun. I have to wash the deck  to try and keep it clean with bird seed and poop Dog pee I mean When it's cold outside Or very early morn The dogs do their business
