Gardening Time but at Home

 It's gardening time but no more big plots across the river. I just don't feel like I can do it on the large scale. Keeping up with my yard and having some veggies planted in the flower beds will be plenty.  The problem is, my yard has been let go for so long, mostly the sides and back, I have lots to keep me busy right here at home! The beginning is going on
 

Gardening at Home

I gave up the garden plots
Over across the river
All that work
Just made me shiver

Trying to do some planting
But doing it at home
Planting in the flower beds
I just need some loam

Almanac said 28, 29, or 30
To put the potatoes in the ground
Didn’t know when the next time
For planting would come around

So, I dug and I dug
Then got the tiller going
Up and down the area
A place for the growing

I added some soil
Don’t think it was the right kind
But I used it anyway
Getting done was on my mind

Tilled that soil in
A trench was then made
Potatoes were put in
And covered with my spade

I can’t hardly move
My leg muscles are aching
My arms feel funny
And they sure are shaking

Time to go inside
Sit in my comfy chair
Maybe tomorrow
I will, again, be out there.
The potatoes and some onions planted here

I'm Worn Out!

It’s Nice Outside By Mary J Williams © I thought about the birds Stepped outside the door The sun was shining brightly Which I just adore! I knew I had washing So went down the stairs Transferred wash to the dryer I know you don’t care! I looked at the floor I need to sweep just a bit Went to get the broom My brain did a flip Feed the birds first Seeing as they have none They need some food Get that chore done The can that holds All the sunflower seed The bungee cord is broken A squirrel probably did the deed The cord held the lid down This has happened before Racoons and squirrels chew it Not going to get the lid off no more I finally found one in the basement That would fit like the old one Now that the birds are fed I found another thing to get done Blew the leaves out of the garage Out from the corner of the door Blew them across the driveway Where I will let them store Pick them up in spring After the birds dig through them Finding all the bugs, worms, and insects Among the rottin

Winter-Yard Gardens Birds Critters and ME

Winter-the Yard, Birds and Critters and Me by Mary J Williams It's sort of winter but the weather is mild You can be outside Which makes me smile Weeds were pulled and I planted a seed one was a tree If it grows, it will surprise me I have had fun watching the birds an argument between bluebirds and the Robins I've heard Chickadees flying in and the Titmouse too I grab the camera Then off they flew I have a flowerbox sits on the rail It's on the two by six so falling will fail It also can sit on a two by four but mine just has the space The birds walk through the tunnel and disappear without a trace One time, while filling the feeders One of the tunnels had a bird A sparrow was in there  He ran so fast, he was blurred I love watching them  they think the tunnels fun Maybe they get cool If there's a lot of sun. I have to wash the deck  to try and keep it clean with bird seed and poop Dog pee I mean When it's cold outside Or very early morn The dogs do their business
