UNBELIEVABLE!

 I have a new feeder

supposed to keep Starlings out

If food falls to the side

The Starlings are about

 

They fly to the feeder

Scare the Bluebirds away

They think they can get inside

And don't want any other to stay

 

The little blue dish

is filled with meal worms

only this time it was a mix

No Starling was my term


I have other feeders

suet are in two

Starlings are at them

Sloppy is how they do

 

The Starlings eat all the suet

The Bluebirds sit underneath

grab all the pieces

the Starlings don't eat

 

This day I set up 

that new special feeder

so Bluebirds could have suet and meal worms

and Starlings couldn't be there

 

Unbelievable, what did those Starlings did

I guess they bounced on the top

there were so many the dish popped out

The food just didn't drop-

 

The dish fell to the side

The Starlings reached in

Finished off the food

none for others, they said with a grin

 

Starlings and Squirrels

my least favorite critters

just wish they would leave

Those thieving committers 

 

I will fill up the dish

each and every day

and hopefully the Bluebirds

will have food, is what I pray!

I'm Worn Out!

It’s Nice Outside By Mary J Williams © I thought about the birds Stepped outside the door The sun was shining brightly Which I just adore! I knew I had washing So went down the stairs Transferred wash to the dryer I know you don’t care! I looked at the floor I need to sweep just a bit Went to get the broom My brain did a flip Feed the birds first Seeing as they have none They need some food Get that chore done The can that holds All the sunflower seed The bungee cord is broken A squirrel probably did the deed The cord held the lid down This has happened before Racoons and squirrels chew it Not going to get the lid off no more I finally found one in the basement That would fit like the old one Now that the birds are fed I found another thing to get done Blew the leaves out of the garage Out from the corner of the door Blew them across the driveway Where I will let them store Pick them up in spring After the birds dig through them Finding all the bugs, worms, and insects Among the rottin

Winter-Yard Gardens Birds Critters and ME

Winter-the Yard, Birds and Critters and Me by Mary J Williams It's sort of winter but the weather is mild You can be outside Which makes me smile Weeds were pulled and I planted a seed one was a tree If it grows, it will surprise me I have had fun watching the birds an argument between bluebirds and the Robins I've heard Chickadees flying in and the Titmouse too I grab the camera Then off they flew I have a flowerbox sits on the rail It's on the two by six so falling will fail It also can sit on a two by four but mine just has the space The birds walk through the tunnel and disappear without a trace One time, while filling the feeders One of the tunnels had a bird A sparrow was in there  He ran so fast, he was blurred I love watching them  they think the tunnels fun Maybe they get cool If there's a lot of sun. I have to wash the deck  to try and keep it clean with bird seed and poop Dog pee I mean When it's cold outside Or very early morn The dogs do their business
